Saturday, September 3
S.R. Finley, general superintendent of the Electrical Power Board of Chattanooga, has been designated as general manager of the board’s activities, chairman Roy McKenzie announced, following a meeting of the board Friday.

Tuesday, September 5
The Chattanooga area got through the 78-hour Labor Day weekend without a single accidental traffic death, drowning or other violent mishap.

Wednesday, September 6
Sheriff Turner Tuesday turned in $5,000 in excess fees to County Judge Chester L. Frost, accumulated during the year ended September 1. Excess fees represent money saved by a county official after all expenses at his office have been paid.

Thursday, September 7
County Manager A.L. Bender was given at least a temporary endorsement Wednesday by a majority of the County Council, at a closed session in the office of County Judge Chester L. Frost.

Friday, September 8
Development of a 150-lot subdivision designed for homes to cost $20,000 to $30,000 and more was announced by realtor Earl Crabtree. Valley View Heights is immediately off Igou Gap Road in East Brainerd.
