The Chattanooga division of Combustion Engineering, Inc., the largest of the industry’s eight divisions has made more heavy nuclear components than any other firm in the world. Harry J. Bolwell, general manager, told the Civitan Club at their luncheon meeting Friday.
Sunday, May 22
Senator Estes Kefauver formally announced Saturday he will seek reelection based on his nearly 22-year record in Congress, the last 12 in the Senate.
Monday, May 23
Mayor P. R. Olgiati said that city and county officials agreed that a Civic Center should be built here. At a meeting of members of the City Commission and county officials plans were discussed to lay the ground work for developing a multi-million-dollar civic center to house offices of the city and county governments and other public facilities.

An extensive lack of rainfall in May has cut the strawberry yield to about half of normal production and has considerably
