Held Oct. 20-27 and presented by The Company Lab, Startup Week Chattanooga will feature more than 100 events that highlight the city’s growing startup scene. Throughout SWC, participants will explore topics like co-founding with a significant other, the basics of cybersecurity, pathways to capital, filmmaking and word-of-mouth marketing. A variety of social events such as a ping pong tournament, a parade, an egg drop challenge and live music will also occur.
Mini Maker Faire
More than 50 artists, inventors and creators have been selected to showcase their work and provide interactive experiences for the public at the fourth annual Chattanooga Mini Maker Faire. The free event will take place Saturday, Oct. 20 at the downtown Chattanooga Public Library.
Interactive experiences will include mold making, origami, arcade games, button making, electrical circuit tinkering, fabric collage crafting, edible chocolate flower making and more. Commercial exhibitors will feature pottery, handmade clothing, plaster molds and ceramics, tea and conservation art. Information: www.chattanooga.makerfaire.com.
Kickin’ It with Dad

Barnett & Company Cantata Series

Fireside: Randy Steele Concert
Bluegrass musician Randy Steele will perform Thursday, Oct. 25 from 7-9 p.m. at the City of Chattanooga’s Greenway Farm Park. The stage is located on the porch of the Sniteman Log Cabin behind the gardens at the park. Outdoor Chattanooga is hosting the free concert. Tennessee Valley Federal Credit Union is the sponsor. Miller Park musical chairs
Moxy Chattanooga, River City Company, The Tomorrow Building and the Innovation District will host a grown-up match of musical chairs on Friday, Oct. 26 at 6 p.m. in Miller Park. Up to 100 adults, ages 18 and older, can participate. The winner will receive a complimentary one-night stay at the Moxy Chattanooga along with a $25 gift card to use toward food and beverage at the Moxy. The second and third place winners will receive a $50 and $25 gift card respectively to use toward a hotel stay or food and beverage at the Moxy.
Online pre-registration is open and suggested for anyone who would like to play. Check in for pre-registered participants will take place from 6-6:30 p.m. Unclaimed spots will be given to walk ups between 6:30 and 6:45 p.m. The game will start at 7 p.m. Pre-register at www.millerparkplaza.com.
Second annual Eggfest
Elder’s Ace Hardware will host Tennessee’s second annual Scenic City EggFest on Saturday, Oct. 27 at Collegedale Commons, 4950 Swinyar, from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Tickets are $20 for adults and free for kids 12 and under. The net proceeds will benefit the Chattanooga Area Food Bank.
Visitors can expect to sample smoked barbecue, grilled pizza and baked desserts and enjoy live music from 10:30 a.m.-2 p.m. A variety of cooking classes will be offered throughout the day from Aaron Hoffman of Hoff Sauce, Kevin Ward of 441 South in Canton, Georgia, Tim Hernquist of Pizza Porta in Atlanta and Chris Grove of Nibble Me This in Knoxville.

A night to honor Israel
Christians United for Israel, along with churches in North Georgia, North Alabama and Southeast Tennessee, are inviting the community to “A Night to Honor Israel” on Thursday, Nov. 1 beginning at 7 p.m. at the Colonnade, 264 Catoosa Circle, in Ringgold, Georgia. The event is open to the public. There is no cost to attend.
Erick Stakelbeck, the director of the Christians United for Israel’s CUFI Watchman Project and host of “The Watchman” program on TBN, will speak. Musical group Adams Voice will perform.

Gallery Hop 2018
On Saturday, Nov. 3 beginning at 11 a.m., Gallery Hop 2018 will invite the public to visit and support local art galleries and artists’ studios. Coordinated by a collective of arts professionals, Gallery Hop will feature exhibits, art demonstrations, interactive activities, music and culinary tasting.

Sculptures in the Sky
Sculpture Fields is partnering with River City Kites, Chattanooga Presents River Rocks and Gallery Hop for Sculptures in the Sky, a free event taking place Saturday, Nov. 3 from noon-6 p.m. at 1800 Polk St. In addition to colossal kites, stunt kites and Rokkaku battle kites, the event will feature food trucks and a beer tent.

WTCI to host annual family day event
WTCI will host its annual Family Day on Sunday, Nov. 11 from 1-4 p.m. at 7540 Bonnyshire Dr. The free event will feature green screen activities, storybook reading, a petting zoo, tours of a Chattanooga Fire Department fire engine, face painting, games, activities and more.
Photo opportunities will be available for children with Clifford, Curious George and Super Why! Grateful Gobbler Walk
Registration is open for the 19th annual Grateful Gobbler Walk, taking place Thanksgiving morning at 8 a.m. at Coolidge Park.
