Events: Lecture and book signing




Artist, author and human anatomy expert Roberto Osti will give a lecture at Townsend Atelier’s Southside studio on Friday, May 26, 6-7:30 p.m. The event is open to the public and free of charge. Osti will discuss how the knowledge of anatomy, or the lack of it, has influenced the way artists have represented the human body in art. Following the lecture, Osti will be available to sign his new book, “Basic Anatomy: An Essential Guide for Artists.”

Southern Lit Alliance hosts Lisa Wingate

Author Lisa Wingate will be the guest for an afternoon book club and an evening reception on Friday, June 14 at 3 and 6 p.m. in at ArtsBuild, 301 E. 11th St. Wingate will discuss and sign copies of her novel “Before We Were Yours” at both events. Diversified pop-up markets

The Chattanooga Chamber of Commerce will host pop-up markets June 19-22, 10 a.m.-2 p.m., at Miller Plaza’s Waterhouse Pavilion. The markets will showcase small, multigenerational, culturally diverse businesses as well as local nonprofits. Each day will feature a unique theme:

Monday, June 19: Retail vendors

Tuesday, June 20: Made-in-Chattanooga products

Wednesday, June 21: Restaurants and food vendors

Thursday, June 22: Services and nonprofits
