The South Chickamauga Creek Greenway Alliance will host Earth Day MidTown: Healthy and Green Wednesday, April 19, 2-6 p.m., at the new Family Justice Center, 5705 Uptain Road. The event will feature food, vendors, music and small workshops and will focus on learning about and supporting local, green businesses. The South Chickamauga Creek Greenway Alliance advocates for the protection of the local watershed.
East Chatt Highlight Festival
Presented by Glass House Collective and green|spaces, East Chatt Highlight Festival will be centered on The Pool, an interactive art exhibit made of glowing panels of light. The event will also feature live DJs, a hip hop and spoken-word showcase, a family fun picnic and more. The weekend-long event will take place Friday, April 21 to Sunday, April 23 at 1901 Roanoke Ave. There will be no cost to attend.
Bonhoeffer movie screening
“Come Before Winter,” a new docudrama about theologian Dietrich Bonhoeffer and the ethical challenges of political resistance in Nazi Germany, was made with contributions from several Southern Adventist University film program alumni. Director Kevin Ekvall will visit Southern’s campus in Collegedale on Saturday, April 22, 7 p.m., free screening in Lynn Wood Hall Chapel. The event is free and open to the public. Night Run Chattanooga 2017
A 5K night run/one-mile walk on the Riverwalk will take place Saturday, April 22, 9:15 p.m. The event will start at Shelter 4 in Riverpark next to the Hubert Fry Center, 4501 Amnicola Highway. Glow-in-the-dark items and t-shirts will be available to participants as part of their registration fee. Warm-up activities and free concessions will be available. Awards will be given to the runners with the best times. All ages are welcome.

Chattanooga Earth Day Rally
The Chattanooga Earth Day Rally will take place Saturday, April 22, 3-10 p.m., at Ross’s Landing City Park.
The event will feature guest speakers, live music, vendors, food and more. The speakers will focus on the science that helps us protect and understand our planet. The event if free and open to the public.
Hike, Bike and Brew
Lula Lake Land Trust will celebrate Earth Day and their mission to protect and preserve the Rock Creek watershed by hosting Hike, Bike and Brew. This unique festival will feature local brewers and brews at seven beer stations along the Lula Lake trails.

Earth Day at the zoo
This education-focused event will allow zoo guests to get hands-on experience with conservation.
Sponsored by the Hamilton County Master Gardeners, the event will feature education carts, crafts and planting stations.

Walk MS
Walk MS, a charity walk that raises money to drive research and provide services for people with muscular dystrophy, will take place Saturday, April 22, at College Park, 150 River St.

Bartender Brawl
Chattanooga Friends will present its annual Bartender Brawl on Thursday, April 27, 6-9 p.m., in Miller Plaza. Bartenders from up to 12 area restaurants and bars will present two tasting-sized cocktails each. 1885 Grill will be providing appetizers for the event.

Raise the Roof

Clean and Green
Downtown Chattanooga’s annual cleanup and beautification event, Clean and Green, will take place Saturday, April 29, 8 a.m.-noon. Clean and Green is a volunteer program that focuses on litter removal and beautification projects throughout Downtown Chattanooga and the surrounding neighborhoods.
Businesses, civic groups, families and individuals are welcome to participate.
All supplies, such as garbage bags and gloves, will be provided.
Check in and assignment of cleaning areas and projects will occur at Miller Plaza, 850 Market Street, at 8 a.m.

Cam Busch health lecture
CHI Memorial Foundation and Hunter Museum of American Art are co-presenting the 17th annual Cam Busch Endowed Arts for Health Lecture Series.This year’s event will be held Thursday, May 18, 5 p.m., at Hunter Museum. Dr. Ysaye Barnwell will return as the guest performer and speaker.
