When it comes to businesses in Chattanooga, “local” is not synonymous with “small” and “independent” does not imply an inability to compete against the big names in the market. Just ask Real Estate Partners Chattanooga.

Real Estate Partners ended 2016 with $193 million in closed real estate production, marking a record-setting year for the company. This yield represented nearly 5 percent of the Chattanooga market and placed the firm among the top five real estate companies in the city.

According to a market share report generated through the Greater Chattanooga Association of Realtors’ FlexMLS website, Real Estate Partners also repeated as the city’s leading locally-owned independent real estate firm.

In addition, Real Estate Partners had the highest average sales price of any top 10 local real estate company in 2016: $246,274.

Regarding the report, Real Estate Partners President Darlene Brown said, “How we do business is as important, if not more so, than the business itself. The story this report tells is one of professionalism, experience, ethics, customer commitment, great marketing tools and good old fashioned hard work.”

To celebrate these accomplishments and kick off the new year, Real Estate Partners held an awards program Jan. 26 at the Greater Chattanooga Association of Realtors.

During the program, Brown gave special recognition to the company’s 2016 Partners in Excellence, each of whom netted a minimum of $2 million dollars in production last year.

“In the real estate world, production is the yardstick that measures how well we do our job. It is the largest indicator of client satisfaction,” Brown said. “This group of exceptional real estate professionals is the embodiment, driving force and very spirit of our company.”

First-time Partners in Excellence included Carla Lee, Shelley Talton, Kristen Brock, Pam Duffy, Ryan May, Abbey Cahill, Paula McDaniel, Kristen Hardy, Teresa Groves and Mary Sanders.

Achieving Partners in Excellence membership for a second time were Linda Palacio, Brian Tucker, Grace Frank and Sandy Lewis.

Third-year Partners in Excellence included Jan Thompson, Susan Rearden Gentry, Sue Shaw, Wendy Lawhorn, Chip Ellis, Beth Harrell, Paula Palmer, Holly Harwell, Johnny Alvis and Gil Patton.

Brown handed out several other awards as well, including the President’s Stepping Up Award. She named Susan Shaw, the incoming managing broker of the East Chattanooga office, and Wendy Lawhorn, the outgoing managing broker of the same office, as co-recipients of the award for “going above and beyond in the management and growth of the location.”

Other honorees included:

  • Top Listing Partner (East) – Missy Shaw
  • Top Listing Partner (Downtown) – Ellis
  • Top Listing Team (East) – The Paula McDaniel Group
  • Top Listing Team (Downtown) – The Grace Frank Group
  • Top Sales Partner (company-wide) – Ellis
  • Top Sales Team (company-wide) – The Paula McDaniel Group
  • Partner of the Year (East) – McDaniel
  • Partner of the Year (Downtown) – Palmer
  • The Positivity Award – Palmer

The agents at each office nominated and voted on the Partner of the Year winners, making the honor a peer-based award. Votes were based on the recipient’s professionalism and willingness to assist and support his or her fellow agents both professionally and personally.
