The grand opening of the new Keller Williams Realty business center in Hixson last week was more than a party – it was a time to celebrate progress and potential.

Over the last year, KW Hixson has experienced two kinds of growth: it now has more Realtors than ever before calling it home, and it’s accommodating these agents in a much larger space.

KW Hixson has added eight Realtors to its ranks since October 2015. Even before these new agents joined the team, the group was in dire need of more square footage. After spending several years in cramped quarters at the Northgate Mall, KW Hixson chose to renovate and move into 1007 Ashland Terrace, Suite 201 – the space formerly occupied by Fletcher Bright Company.

The upgrade gave KW Hixson about 5,000 more square feet to play with. Managing Broker Steven Sharpe said they’re putting it to good use.

“We were talking with agents who were coming out of TREES, or who wanted to switch companies, but we couldn’t give them a desk,” Sharpe said during KW Hixson’s grand opening on Thursday, Aug. 25. “We now have 27 cubicles available to our agents. It gives us a leg up.”

KW Hixson also now has a training room and a technology center, both of which are available to Realtors. Previously, its agents had to train at the Keller Williams market center in East Brainerd. The agent services staff and broker help desk at the East Brainerd office is still available to KW Hixson Realtors, though, giving them around-the-clock support.

The upgrades benefit more than the agents. Sharpe says their new space also sports a conference room where Realtors can meet with clients. This, coupled with quick access to Highway 153, Hixson Pike, and Signal Mountain, gives KW Hixson and its agents greater accessibility.

“We can meet with clients anywhere in the region more quickly than before,” Sharpe said.

Although its walls (and cubicles) are new, the mission of KW Hixson remains the same, Sharpe said: to provide excellent customer service. “We insist our agents be forthcoming, honest, and trustworthy,” he said. “We’re a client-based company, and we’re doing the best we can for them.”

Although the masquerade theme of the grand opening gave KW agents a chance to let their collective hair down for a few hours, Sharpe says his team is typically very business-minded. “We don’t have a lot of boisterous personalities here,” he says. “Our agents are hard working, dedicated, and focused.”

KW Hixson is home to several large Realtor teams, including The Evans Group, headed by Barry and Diane Evans, and the Fuqua Group, which is led by Cheryl Fuqua and her son, Brad Fuqua. Cheryl is excited about the move, as it will give her and her colleagues at KW Hixson greater exposure to the public.

“Our new location gives us more visibility in the community, which is good for business,” she said. “The additional office space is great, too, and it will allow us to keep growing.”

KW Hixson opened June 22 of this year. It is a satellite branch of the East Brainerd office.

Sharpe is looking forward to not just more breathing room and greater functionality, but also to helping clients in this new space. “Tell people to call us or come see us,” he says. “We’d love to help them.”
