Downtown Chattanooga’s newest lofts are officially open following the ribbon cutting ceremony for The Clemons on March 31. The 1920s-era building, once a furniture company, has been transformed into 55 apartment homes and an upscale market.

The building, once the headquarters of the Clemons Brothers Furniture Company, includes several new modern features while keeping the building’s original exposed columns and ductwork. The units feature high ceilings, large windows in the living room, quartz countertops, stainless steel appliances, and Nest Learning Thermostats.

In addition to a rooftop dog park with views of Signal and Lookout Mountains, residents also have indoor secured bike storage, a media room with a 65-inch LED television, a private fitness center, valet trash removal service, and other amenities.

Still under construction on the ground floor is Street Corner Market. The market, which will be open to residents and nonresidents, will feature fresh produce, Boar’s Head meats and cheeses, local coffees, and a rotating selection of craft beers and artisan snacks. Street Corner Market is scheduled to open in May.

Epic Optical optometry offices and eyeglasses boutique occupies the other side of the ground floor.
