A Marine gives the final roll call for the Sailor and four Marines killed July 16 in Chattanooga, calling the names of Gunnery Sgt. Thomas J. Sullivan, Staff Sgt. David A. Wyatt, Sgt. Carson A. Holmquist, Logistics Specialist 2nd Class Randall S. Smith, and Lance Corporal Squire K.P. “Skip” Wells. The U.S. Marine Forces Reserve, the U.S. Navy Reserve, and the City of Chattanooga held the service Aug. 15 at McKenzie Arena. Vice President Joe Biden, Secretary of Defense Ash Carter, Gov. Bill Haslam, Sen. Bob Corker, Secretary of the Navy Ray Mabus, and City of Chattanooga Mayor Andy Berke attended. The Navy and Marine Corps and the City of Chattanooga honored the fallen service members, expressed appreciation to the Chattanooga Police Department and emergency responders, and thanked the community for its support.
