On Friday, Jan. 23, Mayor Andy Berke and his staff kicked off day five of their Week of Service by visiting Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) of Greater Chattanooga. The mayor’s office provided a Jamaican lunch from Mrs. B’s Reggae Café. The mayor’s Week of Service started on Martin Luther King Day and continued throughout the week to encourage Chattanooga residents to serve in their community.

When Mayor Berke and his staff arrived at the Ronald McDonald House, they spent time with Kyra, a young nine-year-old cancer patient who’s been staying at the House with her family. The day the mayor and his staff came to serve lunch, she completed her last radiation treatment. After visiting with Kyra, the mayor’s office toured the House and learned about other ways they can serve RMHC of Greater Chattanooga in the future.

Chef Neville Forsyth from Mrs. B’s and his team delivered lunch to the House courtesy of Mayor Berke. Lunch consisted of chicken pasta with vegetables, seasoned cabbage, mild pork barbeque, fruit cobbler, and rolls.
