Three years ago Mindy Benton opened her deli within the Volunteer Building in downtown Chattanooga. Her goal was simple: create some of the best artisan sandwiches in town sourcing local ingredients whenever possible.

With names like The Caprese, The Thanksgiving, and the Ooh La La, Mindy B’s Deli has earned a reputation for plating some of the tastiest and most unique sandwiches around town.

Recognizing the creative spirit that flows throughout the city, Chef Mindy opens her kitchen doors annually for the Mindy B’s Sandwich Throwdown. The contest, now in its third year, was conceived to coax culinary genius from Chattanooga’s creative community and serve it up with a crunchy pickle to the hungry masses of the city.

To enter, sandwich lovers must first submit their sandwich creations on the Mindy B’s Facebook Page. Next, the three most popular creations (as voted by her Facebook friends) move on to the second round, where their owners create their sandwich in front of the cameras in Mindy B’s kitchen.

Round two voting is done in-store. The most bought sandwich of the day earns a point. The sandwich with the most points at the end of the contest wins the Mindy B’s Sandwich Throwdown, and earns the right to stay on the menu for a year.
