Ground broken on new enclave in Black Creek Mountain

Southern Land Company, master developer of Black Creek Mountain, announced the ground breaking of The Ridges, the newest enclave in Black Creek Mountain.

The Ridges will feature 95 new homesites located at the foot of Aetna Mountain. Southern Land Company is developing approximately 18 acres of the 62 total acres.

The Ridges will be comprised of approximately 70 percent natural green space. “The design of The Ridges focuses on the natural elements of the land, and will complement the overall Black Creek Community. We’re excited to announce the land development is underway, and homesites are scheduled to be delivered in stages starting in the third and fourth quarters of this year,” said Tim Downey, CEO.

The selection of single family homes will be both alley and front entry garage homes. Furthermore, they will range from 1,500 square feet to 3,000 square feet and cost from the low $200’s to the upper $300’s. All homes will have views of Raccoon, Aetna, and Lookout Mountains, and will be surrounded by wooded landscaping. The announcement of the builders and floor plans will be coming soon.

Southern Land Company has contracted a local developer, Stein Construction Company, for the land development. Doug Stein, the president and fourth generation owner of Stein Construction, has been involved in Black Creek Mountain since the beginning. “We have started building the infrastructure, and construction is moving along well,” said Stein.

Located in Lookout Valley at the base of Aetna Mountain, Black Creek Mountain is six minutes from downtown. Black Creek’s property includes nature trails, fishing ponds, tennis courts, cascading pools, a sports complex, a grand clubhouse, and a golf course ranked among America’s Top 100 Residential Courses by Golfweek. The property also includes residential and commercial future development on top of Aetna Mountain.
