Two Chattanooga lawyers selected for Leadership Program

Two Chattanooga attorneys have been selected to participate in the Tennessee Bar Association’s 2014 Leadership Law class: Neil Brunetz of Miller & Martin and Sean Martin of Carr Allison. Now in its 11th year, the class is designed to equip Tennessee lawyers with the vision, knowledge, and skills necessary to serve as leaders in their profession and local communities. This year’s class of 33 attorneys – chosen from across the state – will meet for its first session in January, and then spend the next six months learning about leadership in the legal profession, issues in the courts, policymaking in state government and the importance of community service.

Brunetz, an attorney in the Chattanooga office of Miller & Martin, focuses his practice on Neil Brunetz courtroom representation of clients in civil litigation matters, including personal injury, wrongful death, workers’ compensation, construction, contract, commercial disputes, and malpractice actions. He represents employers in defense of workers’ compensation claims in state court and at the Tennessee Department of Labor. Brunetz has bench and jury trial experience on behalf of both plaintiffs and defendants in state courts in Tennessee and Georgia and federal courts as well as a diverse appellate practice. He currently represents banks in Tennessee and Georgia related to loan workouts and collection efforts.

Martin is a shareholder in the Chattanooga office of Carr Allison. An attorney with experience in diverse areas of the law, he has served as counsel to clients in Tennessee and Georgia in the construction, insurance, retail and hospitality, and transportation industries. Specifically, he has successfully handled cases regarding product liability, professional liability, commercial litigation, and workers’ compensation.

Martin received his Business Degree from Warren Wilson College in Asheville, N.C. He then earned his M.B.A. from the University of Memphis and his J.D. from the University of Memphis School of Law.

Brunetz told the Hamilton County Herald he’s looking forward to taking part in the Leadership Law class, saying, “It’s an honor personally and for Miller &Martin to be selected by the Tennessee Bar Association Leadership Law Steering Committee for the 2014 Leadership Law Class. I look forward to honing my leadership skills with other respected colleagues and to contributing to the future of law and government in Tennessee.”
