Home and Remodeling Expo to provide information on increasing home value

Fall is a great time for home remodeling, decorating, and landscaping.  People attending the 2013 Home and Remodeling Expo next weekend will be able to draw inspiration from displays and talk with experts about the renovations they want to make.

The expo will take place Saturday, September 14 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday, September 15 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Chattanooga Convention and Trade Center. The cost will be $6 per person. Children 16 and under will be free. Visitors who bring one or more canned goods to benefit the TN Baptist Children’s will receive $1 off admission.

The Home and Remodeling Expo will feature products and services for new home construction, fall fix ups, whole house renovations, landscaping, interior design and holiday decorating.  Builders, plan designers and remodelers will be on hand to talk with people about their project.

Hat’s Eric Strummer will be at the show on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Strummer was on the HOT show “Over Your Head” and was a carpenter on TLC’s “Clean Sweep.”

One winner will have dinner for eight with Strummer on Saturday night.  The winner will be selected from advance tickets.  Purchase advance tickets at the Chattanooga Market on Sunday, September 8 or at the Home Builders Association of Greater Chattanooga.

Designer Faces for Special Spaces

Three local designers will turn six flea market finds into beautiful pieces of furniture.  People attending the show will be able to stop by the booth to bid on the items during a silent auction.  The proceeds will benefit Special Spaces.  Special Spaces is a local non-profit that decorates the bedroom of a child with a life threatening illness.

A Pinterest contest for the show is also taking place.  At pinterest.com/hbagc/boards, guests can pin their favorite holiday decorations on their mantel, entryway and door.  The Home Builders Association of Greater Chattanooga will pick one winner, who will receive four tickets to the show and a two-hour free consultation with Kimberly Lemmon of The Green Room Interiors.

Some pinterest holiday decorations will made at the show on Saturday at 1:30 and Sunday at 1 and 3.

Sponsors of the show include AFS, Home Town Lenders, McKinnley Supply, and Xfinity.

The Home and Remodeling Expo is also sponsored by the Home Builders Association of Greater Chattanooga and the Greater Chattanooga Remodelers Council.
