Cummings Cove – part of Black Creek Mountain

Located in the heart of Lookout Valley, the Cummings Cove neighborhood was named for the late Judge Will Cummings, who is credited with construction of the iconic Market Street Bridge, the Chattanooga portion of the historic Dixie Highway and placement of the Chickamauga Lock and Dam.

The new developers of Cummings Cove and Black Creek Club last week announced that the neighborhood is now known as Black Creek Mountain. They noted that as the neighborhood continues to grow from the ‘cove’ up the side of the mountain, it is time to provide a name that encompasses the heritage of the past as it plans for the future.

The developers of Black Creek Mountain have already added a package of amenities. A new sports park, nature trails, and dog park are just a few of the amenities added in the past year. The Black Creek Clubhouse has also been renovated and more than tripled in size with a new fitness center; full service restaurant; bar and lounge; men’s grill; private dining; and golf shop. The Clubhouse will also feature resort-style pools with a water fall that cascades from pool to pool.

With plans for a General Store and options that will allow residents to live above their office or store, the Black Creek Mountain community pays tribute to the visionary thinking of the late Judge Cummings.
