The Greater Chattanooga Association of Realtors has named Broker Owner Sabrena Turner its 2012 Realtor of the Year. Award committee chairman Dan Griess made the announcement on Wednesday, April 17, at a brokers’ breakfast at GCAR.

“The strength of the Greater Chattanooga Association of Realtors can be found in each of us. United as Realtors, we have accomplished great things for our industry and our clients. While we are strongest when we work together, there are individuals who stand out in the crowd and embody all that it means to be a Realtor. It is on those individuals that the association bestows its highest honor,” Griess said during his opening remarks.

A Chattanooga native, Turner has been an active member of the association since 2003.  She has served on various committees, including Governmental Affairs, Grievance, and Professional Standards, and attended more than 30 education sessions. Turner also played a key role on the Realtors Political Action Committee in 2012.

“Because of this Realtor’s passion and participation, several seats on the new Chattanooga City Council were won by Realtor champions,” Griess said.

Turner’s political activism includes annexation and the storm water and waste water controversies of 2010. She is also a vocal proponent of property rights and fair taxation.

“I’m shocked,” Turner said after Griess announced her name. “I don’t deserve this, but thank you.”

Turner is the owner of Sabrena Realty Associates.
