Miller & Martin appoints new leadership to its litigation department




Miller & Martin this week announced the appointment of James Williams to serve as chair of the firm’s litigation department.  In addition, Alison Martin will take the role of Chattanooga vice-chair.

“We are excited to have James and Alison lead our litigation team as the department continues to grow. Their depth of expertise and dedication to the firm makes them invaluable to the future success of the department,“ said Jim Haley, chairman of the firm.

Williams concentrates his practice in civil litigation with emphasis on business disputes, insurance coverage and product liability. He has handled a wide variety of litigation matters including commercial contract and warranty disputes, ERISA and non-ERISA life and disability plans, property disputes, libel claims, and coverage matters involving CGL and D&O policies. He has argued cases before the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals, the Tennessee Supreme Court and the Tennessee Court of Appeals.

Martin concentrates her practice in civil litigation with an emphasis on business litigation. She represents clients in federal and state court and arbitration matters involving breach of contract, business dissolution disputes, personal injury defense, and health care reimbursement, credentialing and peer review issues.
