Four attorneys recently joined Gearhiser Peters Elliott & Cannon. Corrin P. Fulton and Justin B. Faith have joined the law firm’s civil litigation practice. Stacy H. Farmer and David W. Hunter have joined the firm’s business, corporate, and estate planning practice.
Fulton is a domestic law and general civil litigation attorney. She attended Lee University and graduated in 2005 with a Bachelor of Arts in English and a minor in Bible Philosophy. She then received her law degree from the Appalachian School of Law, where she served as president and vice-president of several legal organizations and competed and placed nationally in moot court competitions.
Fulton is licensed to practice in Tennessee and the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee. She has bench trial, jury trial, and appellate brief experience. She serves on the board of the Chattanooga Young Lawyers Division and is a member of the Chattanooga Bar Family Law Chapter, Tennessee Bar Association, and Tennessee Trial Lawyers. She serves the community as a volunteer soccer coach at North River Soccer Association and regularly volunteers at Normal Park Elementary School.
Farmer is a business law and general civil litigation attorney. She is a graduate of Auburn University with undergraduate degrees in International Business and Psychology and a graduate degree in Community Agency Counseling. Farmer is also a 2011 graduate of the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University. While attending Cumberland, she volunteered with Legal Services Alabama and served as a senior associate editor of the American Journal of Trial Advocacy. Currently, Farmer is a member of the Tennessee Bar Association and serves as a member of the Bledsoe County Board of Education.
David W. Hunter is a tax, corporate, and business law attorney. He advises individuals and businesses ranging from start-up entities to mature companies in federal and state tax law, corporate law, general business law, business succession, and wealth planning. Hunter is admitted to practice law in Tennessee and Alabama and before the U.S. Tax Court. Prior to becoming an attorney, he was employed for five years with the international accounting firm of Ernst & Young and is a Tennessee Certified Public Accountant.
Hunter earned his undergraduate degree in accounting from Tennessee Technological University, graduating magna cum laude, his law degree from the University of Memphis, graduating cum laude, and a master of laws in taxation from New York University, where he served as graduate editor of the Tax Law Review.
Justin B. Faith is a general civil and business litigation attorney. He is a 2008 magna cum laude graduate from the University of Louisville and a 2011 magna cum laude graduate from the University of Tennessee College of Law. While in law school, Faith worked as a student attorney in the U.T. Legal Clinic, at the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Tennessee, and at the Knoxville District Attorney General’s Office. He also worked as a graduate research assistant for Dean Doug Blaze, served on the executive board on the Student Bar Association, and served as a research editor on “Transactions: The Tennessee Journal of Business Law.”
Prior to joining the firm, Faith served as the judicial law clerk for the Honorable W. Frank Brown III and the Honorable Jeffrey M. Atherton of the Hamilton County Chancery Court. Faith is currently an active member of the Tennessee Bar Association, the Chattanooga Bar Association (including the Young Lawyer’s Division), the Justices Brock and Cooper American Inns of Court, the Chattanooga Trial Lawyers Association, and the Young Professionals Association of Chattanooga.
