Name the Choo Choo Pooch contest at Choo Choo Dog Camp

You can’t miss the giant French bulldog grinning at passersby from his station in front of the Choo Choo Dog Camp at 25 West 20th Street. But this big boy has never had an official name. So Dog Camp founder and owner Liz Fortanier decided to have a contest to name him, with all of the proceeds benefiting DoGood Chattanooga, Wally’s Friends and the Humane Society.

The “Name The Choo Choo Pooch” contest begins November 15 and ends December 15. Anyone who wants to participate will pay one dollar to contribute each suggested male or non-gender-specific name. There is no limit on the numbers of names a participant can contribute. Names can be entered online using PayPal at www.choochoodogcamp.com, at the Dog Camp booth at MAINx24 on December 1 and at Choo Choo Dog Camp.

Choo Choo Dog Camp is also sponsoring a “Best YouTube Video Featuring Our Dog” contest during the same period. There is no charge to enter this contest, but each posted video must highlight the giant mascot. Send links to Fortanier at liz@choochoodogcamp.com.

A winner in each category will receive a one hundred dollar cash prize donated by Choo Choo Dog Camp. Winners will be announced during an open house on December 15 at Choo Choo Dog Camp.

Contest judges are Karen Roach from DoGood Chattanooga, Eileen Price from Wally’s Friends, Guy Bilyeu from The Humane Society, County Commissioner Joe Graham and City Councilman Andrae McGary.
