David Higney recognized by International Who’s Who of Environmental Lawyers

Chattanooga attorney David Higney is listed as one of the leading environmental law counselors by “The International Who’s Who of Environmental Lawyers 2012.” In 2011, Higney was the only attorney not located in Nashville and one of only four environmental attorneys in Tennessee to be honored. Again in 2012, of the four Tennessee lawyers selected, Higney is the only Tennessee environmental attorney selected outside of Nashville.

Licensed in both Tennessee and Georgia, Higney focuses his practice on litigation and environmental law. He advocates before various federal and state courts, administrative agencies, commissions and boards. Higney regularly assists clients with Brownfield redevelopment projects, government enforcement actions, water pollution issues, hazardous substances and solid waste claims. He counsels clients seeking permits for new and expanding facilities, and he represents the Chattanooga Regional Manufacturers Association relative to public utility cases.

Higney is a 1991 University of Tennessee College of Law graduate and earned his undergraduate business degree in 1988 at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. He is an invited member of Chattanooga’s Brock-Cooper Chapter of the American Inns of Court, a 2006 Leadership Chattanooga graduate and a past-president of the Leadership Chattanooga Alumni Association, and a past-chairman of the Tennessee Bar Association Environmental Law Section.

Since 1991, Higney has practiced with Grant Konvalinka & Harrison, serving regional and national clients from the firm’s offices located in the Republic Centre in Chattanooga.

“The International Who’s Who of Business Lawyers” is an annual publication recognizing lawyers as nominated by clients and peers.
