Miller & Martin appoints new labor and employment leadership

Miller & Martin has selected John Bode as chair of the firm’s labor and employment department. Jay Elliott III will assume the role of the department’s vice-chair.

Bode is entering his 28th year of practice devoted exclusively to the representation of prominent national, regional and Tennessee employers in all aspects of labor and employment law.

Elliott concentrates his practice on labor and employment. He represents a number of major employers in handling employment discrimination, harassment and retaliation complaints and claims filed with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and similar state agencies.

In addition to his nationwide labor and employment law practice, Elliott founded and leads the Cleveland Area HR Roundtable, a group of select Human Resource professionals in the Cleveland, Tenn., area that meets quarterly.

“We’re delighted to have each of these talented individuals serve as leaders of our firm. Their depth of expertise and dedication to outstanding client service will greatly support the continued success of the firm,” said Jim Haley, chairman of the firm.

Miller & Martin’s Labor & Employment department has over 15 members serving the Chattanooga employer community.
