The murder of Mounted Patrolman Clarence Livingston by burglars while he attempted to arrest three men entering the Dillard Saloon on Main Street occurred in the early morning hours Sunday. Livingston was a young and kindly officer. The Police Department is very much upset and is making every effort to locate the killers. Commissioner T.C. Betterton has made an appeal for financial help on behalf of Patrolman Livingston’s wife and small children that they might be able to keep their home. So far, over $2,000 has been received.
