Law magazine names Miller & Martin top law firm for diversity

MultiCultural Law Magazine has listed Miller & Martin, which has offices in Atlanta, Nashville and Chattanooga, as one of the “Top 50 Law Firms for Associates” for 2012. The firm was also ranked in the “Top 25 Law Firms for African-Americans.”

“At Miller & Martin, we recognize that a diverse workforce and inclusive work environment are necessary if we are to effectively understand and serve our clients. Through recruitment, hiring, retention and advancement, our firm continues its commitment to our formal Diversity Initiative,” said Jim Haley, Chairman of the firm.

Attorneys at Miller & Martin agree that the firm makes diversity a main focus throughout each office. When asked about the value the firm puts on diversity, Junaid Odubeko, an associate in the firm’s Nashville office, said, “Miller & Martin understands the importance of diversity in today’s global marketplace and the need to provide all attorneys with the necessary tools for success.”

Joseph Delgado, a member in the firm’s Atlanta office, elaborated on the benefits he has received personally from the firm’s diversity efforts: “Diversity drives Miller & Martin. The firm’s inclusive work environment and broad range of professionals has provided me with the knowledge, support and other tools necessary to gain client confidence, develop a practice and provide the highest level of service.”

The selection process for these rankings begins with a mass distribution of diversity surveys to hundreds of law firms nationwide based on four categories: Women, Associates, Partners and overall Diversity. Additionally, they are subcategorized as follows: African-American, Asian, Hispanic and Native American.
