Burr & Forman launches non-compete and trade secrets blog

The law firm of Burr & Forman has launched a Non-Compete & Trade Secrets Law Blog. The blog is devoted to addressing developments in non-compete and trade secret law in the Southeast and to providing practical information for businesses to consider as they deal with unfair competition issues. The blog can be found at www.noncompetetradesecretslaw.com and will be maintained and updated by the firm’s Non-Compete and Trade Secrets service group.

Burr & Forman’s Non-Compete and Trade Secrets group comprises litigation and transactional attorneys in Georgia, Alabama, Florida, Mississippi and Tennessee. The group’s members are focused on the representation and counseling of businesses and executives in connection with all types of unfair competition issues, including those involving non-compete, non-solicitation and non-disclosure agreements, employee raiding, trade secrets, and employee loyalty. The new blog provides a platform by which the group can communicate pertinent information concerning non-compete and trade secrets to its clients, the public and other practitioners.

“In an increasingly competitive and mobile workplace, non-compete agreements and trade secret laws have become essential tools for employers in protecting their valuable customer relationships and confidential information, as well as avoiding unfair competition from former employees and competitors. Continual changes in this area of the law, as well as technological advances providing increasing avenues for unfair competition, make it imperative that businesses in all fields stay abreast of the latest developments,” said Chip Collins, a partner in the firm’s Atlanta office and head of its Non-Compete and Trade Secrets group. “We believe this blog will be the first of its kind to focus on the non-compete and trade secrets laws of the five Southeastern states in which Burr & Forman is located.”
