Kelly & Dutton provide team approach

Bryan Kelly and Adam Dutton, partners at Kelly & Dutton, offer their clients a unique approach to financial planning. Their goal for their clients is to become their personal financial GPS, a roadmap for the financial journey their clients face. They hope to achieve this goal through their teamwork approach to handling the financial affairs of their clients.

Both Kelly and Dutton are Certified Financial Planners, which is the highest designation a financial planner can achieve, yet each has a different skill set for servicing clients.

“In today’s challenging economy, financial planners need to be more creative than ever,” says Dutton. “Clients need a special type of planner to help them understand the challenging economy and how to make wise financial decisions.”

While Kelly and Dutton specialize in retirement and estate planning, each offers unique areas of expertise. Kelly focuses additionally on insurance and family finances, while Dutton specializes in charitable giving, small business planning and portfolio management. They believe this approach offers the maximum value for their clients.

“Because we complement each other, we believe we bring the maximum amount of value to our clients,” says Kelly. “While we’re conservative with our clients’ investments, we also offer creativity when investing – something we call being ‘creatively conservative’ because we use every tool at our disposal to reduce the amount of risk.”

Kelly and Dutton recognize the importance of giving back to their communities and are active philanthropically. Kelly has held the vice president position with the Sertoma Club of Chattanooga, a service organization that assists children and adults suffering from hearing loss, and volunteers for local arts organizations including Allied Arts of Chattanooga, the Hunter Art Museum and the Chattanooga Theatre Centre. Additionally, Kelly has been a continuing education professor at UTC since 2003.

Dutton was the 2009-2010 president of Ooltewah-Collegedale’s Kiwanis Club, and holds seats on the board of his Kiwanis chapter. Dutton also volunteers regularly for Hatch’s House of Hope, which assists families dealing with pediatric cancer by providing necessary financial resources.

“Community outreach and volunteer work has always been a passion and a priority, and I’m proud to be able to integrate service into our business practice,” says Dutton.
