Saturday, April 1

Attorney Richard Dietzen of the firm of Dietzen, Graham and Dietzen was elected president of the Chattanooga Bar Association at the annual meeting. Named vice-president was Robert Kirk Walker. Will-iam Sherrill was named secretary-treasurer.

Sunday, April 2

The population of Greater Chattanooga now is 267,255 it is estimated in the 1961 city directory published by Rothberger Directory Company. This represents an increase of 3,474 since the 1960 dir-ectory was issued last April.

Monday, April 3

Castle in the Clouds, resort hotel on Lookout Mountain will be converted into a club for retired persons according to new owner Charles Lavin.

Wednesday, April 5

Robert E. Martin of Provident Life and Accident Insurance Company was presented the governor’s award Wednesday as the most out-standing handicapped employee of the Greater Chattanooga area.

Friday, April 7

The Chattanooga Sym-phony Guild’s Flower Mart on Patten Parkway will sell plants, shrubs, bulbs, garden furniture, food, etc. The florists and Fowler Bros. are cooperating in the project to help the Symphony Guild raise $2,000.
