2010 YP awards recipients announced at Jetset

The Young Professionals Association of Chattanooga (YPAC) announced the winners for the fourth annual YP Awards, October 9, at Warehouse Row in Chattanooga.
YPAC President Tiffanie Robinson said, “YPAC wanted to make this year’s awards different from years past. We recognize there are young people with unique skills and new efforts trying to improve our area in unconventional ways.
To honor them, we added three categories: YP artist of the year, YP entrepreneur of the year and a community service award. We feel these additions do a better job of representing what YPAC is, a versatile, well rounded, diverse group working towards a common goal of bettering Chattanooga. ”
This year’s winners are:
Realtor Cara Ables Hicks: Young Professional of the Year
First Tennessee Bank: Young Professional Friendly Business
Sculptor Isaac Duncan III: Young Professional Artist of the Year
Business owner Ethan Collier: Young Professional Entrepreneur of the Year
Nathan Frazier: Young Professional Community Service Award
YP of the Year, Cara Ables Hicks said, “It’s an honor to be recognized as a young leader. As a young professional and mom, it is my passion and responsibility to be active in my community, and I consider it a privilege to play a small part in Chattanooga’s exciting development.?
I am grateful for the support of the Young Professionals Association for the many ways that YPAC promotes opportunities to get involved, and the willingness of mentors and teachers that have encouraged me and other emerging leaders to make a difference.”
The event theme for 2010 was “Jetset,” a tour of food and music from countries around the globe. Sushi Nabe, Niko’s Southside Grill, La Ateña, Mercantino and Crep-A-Delic provided the cultural cuisine.
On The List Catering provided drinks and DJK7 entertained the crowd.
YPAC would like to thank the Jetset sponsors: EPB, Brewer Media, InfoSystems, Tennessee Valley Credit Union, Halloween Express and Northwestern Mutual for their support.
