Hamilton County poli-
tical leaders generally ex-pected David M. Ramsey, chief deputy in the County Court Clerk’s office since 1952, to be elected County Court Clerk to succeed the late Jack Hixson. The next county clerk will be chosen by the Quarterly County Court to serve until the regular election in 1962.

Wednesday, October 26
Supporters of John F. Kennedy and Lyndon B. Johnson attended a $5-
a-plate Democratic barbecue at Warner Park field house Thursday night.
Congressman Kenneth A. Roberts of Anniston, Ala., U.S. representative from Alabama’s 4th District addressed the gathering.
Attorney Fletcher B. Mor-gan, Hamilton County chairman for the Kennedy-Johnson ticket and known as “King Barbecuer,” is in charge of the event.

Thursday, October 27
Miss Bertha Adkins, United State undersecretary of health, education and welfare addressed a group of Nixon-Lodge supporters Thursday at a luncheon at Hotel Patten.

Friday, October 28
Hamilton County’s new $900,000 Soddy-Daisy Junior High School will open Tuesday. Roy C.
Smith will head the faculty at the new junior high.
