Saturday, October 1
Louise Davis, the only Hamilton County entry in the four-division state competition, won second place in the party dress division in the 4-H Dress Revue at the Read House, Saturday.

Sunday, October 2
Girl and boy Scouts held their 20th annual Fehn Day outing Saturday at Riverview playground as guests of Joe Fehn, restaurateur and one of their most active supporters.

Monday, October 3
The University of Chattanooga has purchased the Holtzclaw Apartments at the corner of Vine and Baldwin Streets, from Mrs. Sarah Holtzclaw Thompson as a part of UC’s 75th anniversary development program president Dr. LeRoy Martin announced.

Tuesday, October 4
The commission of Knoxville Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church with Dr. James L. Fowle as chairman completed organization of the Northminster Presbyterian Church on Highway 58. Dr. J. Harper Brady was installed as pastor. Plans for the proposed building were approved and trustees authorized to award the contract. Services are now being held in the Lakeside Elementary School.
