The former Leisure Lady casino ship has arrived at the Bend. Real estate developer Urban Story Ventures worked with marine transportation company Serodino to transport the ship from its mooring on the Tennessee River in the Battery Place Neighborhood in downtown Chattanooga to its new home last week.
“If you’ve been on the Riverwalk or driven across Veterans Memorial Bridge, you’ve likely seen the giant ship, which has seen better days,” says Brad Shumpert, executive vice president of Urban Story Ventures. “The core of our business focuses on next chapters in commercial real estate, and we see great potential and exciting possibilities ahead for Leisure Lady.”
The Bend is a 120-acre adaptive reuse project on Chattanooga’s downtown riverfront that spans more than 3,000 linear feet.
