Miller Bros. Co. has signed a lease for a $1,250,000 store to be included in construction of the East Gate Shopping Center in Brainerd. Felix G. Miller, president of Miller Bros., said the new store in East Gate will be the largest department store in the Chattanooga suburban area.
Tuesday, May 31
The election of Scott N. Brown, president of Real Estate Management, Inc, to membership in the Ameri-can Society of Real Estate Counselors was announced Sunday by James D. Landuer of New York City, president of the society.
Wednesday, June 1
Charles M. Davison,
Jr., of Washington D.C., vice-president of finance and taxation for the Southern Railway System, addressed the Kiwanis Club Tuesday, at a luncheon, on the importance of the
railroad industry to a community. Tax checks amounting to $287,442 for 1959 will be presented to Hamilton County officials this week while the City of Chatta-nooga will receive $97,954 and the state of Tennessee some $3,700,000 in tax receipts from the Southern System.
