The National Association of Realtors has awarded Greater Chattanooga Realtors MLS director Tonya Bell the Realtor Association Certified Executive designation, which recognizes exceptional efforts made by Realtor association executives.

Bell is one of more than 500 Realtor association executives and one of only 14 Realtor association executives in Tennessee who have achieved this mark of excellence, reports Greater Chattanooga Realtors.

Local and state association executives who hold the RCE designation represent Realtors in 49 states and territories.

“I’m proud to be receiving this designation,” Bell says. “It’s a high point in my career as an association executive.”

Before becoming a candidate for the RCE designation, applicants must document their association management and academic experiences.

Once they have completed this step, eligible candidates must pass a multiple-choice exam based on a comprehensive understanding of association operations and management practices.

Candidates must demonstrate knowledge of areas critical to Realtor association management, including association law, governance and issues related to member services.

To retain the designation, RCEs must be recertified every four years.

“This great achievement comes as no surprise,” says Greater Chattanooga Realtors 2021 President Robert Backer. “Tonya is an integral part of Greater Chattanooga Realtors, and I and the board of directors are proud of her.”

“Tonya has shown herself to be a valuable member of our team, and by earning her RCE she’s proven not only her dedication to our local, state and national associations but also her commitment to serving Realtors with excellence,” says Carol Seal, CEO and executive vice president of Greater Chattanooga Realtors.

Bell will receive an award plaque from representatives of the Greater Chattanooga Realtors during an upcoming event.
