Hamilton County tops $4 billion in real estate sold in fiscal 2020-21

More than $4.1 billion in Hamilton County real estate was sold or transferred in Fiscal Year 2020, reports Hamilton County Register of Deeds Marc Gravitt.

This represents an increase of more than 30% from the previous fiscal year.

Additionally, over $6.8 billion in mortgages were recorded – an increase of more than 34% from Fiscal Year 2019.

“With COVID dominating the majority of the last fiscal year, demand for both commercial and residential real estate in Hamilton County never slowed,” Gravitt says. “In fact, the opposite occurred. I think the ongoing, dramatic increase in the numbers in my office shows how strong local real estate is.”

The amount of the state mandated conveyance tax and mortgage tax collected for Fiscal Year 2020 exceeded $23 million – an increase of over 32% from the previous fiscal year.

In addition, Gravitt’s office recorded almost 81,000 documents for the fiscal year – an increase of over 21%.
