Chambers USA 2021 recognizes Higney

Chattanooga environmental law attorney David Higney is once again listed in the “2021 Chambers USA Guide: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business” report. Chambers included Higney in band three in Tennessee for his environmental work.

Chambers and Partners’ rankings are based on interviews analysts conduct with law firms worldwide. The legal directory ranks law firms and individual lawyers in bands. According to Chambers, being ranked in any band is a significant achievement.

To determine a ranking, independent analysts assess a firm or attorney’s technical legal ability, quality of service, depth of business understanding, degree of diligence and value.

Higney is an executive committee member at Grant, Konvalinka & Harrison, where he concentrates on environmental law and administrative and regulatory matters.

He has been involved for several years with perfluoroalkyl substances litigation and is a regular presenter about the emerging contaminants.

Higney also assists clients with Brownfield redevelopment projects and environmental enforcement activities by federal or state regulators and defends claims involving hazardous substances and toxic materials.

He is counsel to the Interlocal Solid Waste Authority in Tennessee.

Higney has also advised clients about site selection and permitting new or expanding industrial manufacturing facilities.

He is the immediate past-president of the Brock-Cooper Chapter of the American Inns of Court and is licensed to practice in Tennessee and Georgia.
