National Coalition of 100 Black Women to host 25th anniversary fundraiser

The Chattanooga Chapter of the National Coalition of 100 Black Women will celebrate its 25th anniversary with a virtual fundraising gala Friday, Oct. 23, 7 p.m.

“For 25 years, we’ve partnered and served in our community as we’ve worked toward our vision that Black women and girls will live in a world where socioeconomic inequity does not exist,” says local NCBW President Deborah Flagg.

“We have provided college scholarships to hundreds of young ladies in our city, served as mentors through our Sista-to-Sista program with the students at the Chattanooga Girls Leadership Academy, hosted numerous workshops, health fairs and symposiums and provided resources to educate women about their health and financial well-being.

“We have also led public forums for political candidates and visited with our local, state and federal elected officials in order to be the voice of Black women and girls on issues that matter to all of us.”

The fundraising gala will be held via Facebook Live
