Baker Donelson elects Levine to board of directors

Baker Donelson’s shareholders have elected shareholder Jim Levine to serve as a member of the firm’s board of directors for a three-year term.

Levine practices in the areas of commercial lending, mergers and acquisitions, business organizations and commercial contracts.

He has experience in health care financing, particularly in the representation of financial institutions and borrowers in HUD-insured loan transactions for long-term care, senior housing and multifamily housing facilities.

Levine has been counsel in hundreds of HUD-insured loans totaling approximately $2 billion for projects in more than 40 states.

He works from Baker Donelson’s Chattanooga and Washington, D.C. offices.

Best Lawyers in America has recognized Levine in the areas of business organizations and commercial finance law. The publication named him the 2018 Chattanooga Lawyer of the Year in the area of business organizations.

Levine has also been recognized in Mid-South Super Lawyers since 2009.

A graduate of Yale University and Tulane University Law School, Levine is chairman of the board of commissioners of the Chattanooga Housing Authority and is a member of the Rotary Club of Chattanooga.

He previously served on the boards of the Chattanooga Area Chamber of Commerce and the T.C. Thompson Children’s Hospital Foundation.

Also elected to Baker Donelson’s board of directors were Christy Tosh Crider, who practices in the firm’s Nashville office, Steven F. Griffith Jr., who is based in New Orleans, and Scott W. Pedigo from the firm’s office in Jackson, Mississippi.
