CHI Memorial’s new physician leadership structure includes Dr. Matt Kodsi as vice president of medical affairs and Dr. Lee Jackson as surgery service line medical director.
Kodsi will serve as a liaison between physicians, hospital management and community organizations and work with CommonSpirit Health counterparts on strategic planning and organizationwide initiatives. He will also oversee CHI Memorial’s medical staff services.
Kodsi has served in several medical staff leadership roles at CHI, including chief of staff, physician adviser and medical director for CHI’s stroke program.
Jackson will serve as the dyad leader with the senior vice president for surgery services, the chief of surgery and the anesthesia medical director. He served as medical director for CHI Memorial Urologic Oncology for nine years and has led the robotic work group.
Before CHI Memorial, Jackson was a department chair and associate chief of staff at Cleveland Clinic Florida.
Acumen hires new team members
Acumen has hired three new team members.
Portfolio analyst Grant Allen will research client portfolios and their underlying holdings. He’s a member of Acumen’s Portfolio Management Committee, which formulates and implements discretionary portfolio changes and portfolio recommendations for clients and prospects. Allen earned a degree in finance from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga’s Gary Rollins College of Business.
Lindsay Nance and Katie Sanchez will serve as private client relationship managers. Nance brings nearly 15 years of client service experience to Acumen. Before Acumen, she worked for Unum. Sanchez worked at New York Life before coming to Acumen and is a notable Rotarian.
Chattanooga State names Wyatt student conduct director
Chattanooga State Community College has tapped Stephen Wyatt to be its new director of student conduct and judicial affairs. The office of student conduct upholds the rights and responsibilities of students. Wyatt most recently lived in Rome, Georgia, where he worked in residence life at Berry College.
Wyatt earned his bachelor’s degree from Berry in music business in 2009 and his master’s in college student affairs at the University of West Georgia in 2012.
McClister named to Chair of Excellence
Chattanooga State has named assistant professor of journalism Angela McClister its 2019-20 First Horizon Business Chair of Excellence.
In addition to her teaching duties, McClister serves as adviser to Chattanooga State’s student newspaper, The Communicator, and the college student delegation of Tennessee Intercollegiate State Legislature representatives.
The First Horizon Endowed Chair of Excellence in Business was established through the Chattanooga State Foundation for the purpose of recognizing a faculty member who contributes to excellence in business education.
