The Chattanooga Symphony & Opera will present Handel’s “Messiah” at First Baptist Church, 401 Gateway Ave., Friday, Dec. 6, 7:30 p.m. The symphony will be joined by the CSO Chorus, Chattanooga State concert choir and adult choir of First Baptist Church.

“We will feature the portions of ‘Messiah’ most commonly performed during the Christmas season, including the ‘Hallelujah Chorus,’” says Kayoko Dan, CSO music director.

Four local artists will be featured as soloists: Christine Hassevoort, Rosella Ewing, Darrin Hassevoort and Brett Hyberger.

Darrin Hassevoort, director of both the Chattanooga State Concert Choir and CSO Chorus, will lead the vocalists.
