Local 3 will add meteorologist Kinley Beshers to its Storm Alert Weather Team this month while moving Logan Dubel to the weekend morning anchor desk.
Beshers will become the weather team’s fourth member, replacing Hannah Skye, who is leaving for WXIA, the NBC affiliate in Atlanta. Beshers holds bachelor’s degrees in journalism from Auburn University and broadcast meteorology and geosciences from Mississippi State University. She most recently interned at WKRN in Nashville.
Dubel, who joined Local 3 in 2025, will begin anchoring weekend mornings Sept. 5. He also will join noon anchor Michelle Heron in relaunching the station’s investigative reporting unit under the 3 Investigates brand.
The investigative team will focus on in-depth reporting and accept story ideas from viewers.
Beshers is expected to make her Local 3 on-air debut later this month.
Billingsley joins pulmonary care practice
Nurse practitioner Kindall Billingsley has joined CommonSpirit Medical Group – Pulmonary Care – Chattanooga and is accepting new patients.
Billingsley has more than 10 years of experience caring for patients in clinical and hospital settings. She earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing from East Tennessee State University and a master’s degree in nursing from Samford University and is certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.

EPB Leadership transition moves Rehberg to CEO
Janet Rehberg has officially taken over as CEO of EPB, succeeding David Wade following a yearlong leadership transition.
Rehberg had served as president and CEO-elect since September 2025, working alongside Wade and EPB’s leadership team in preparation for the transition.
Wade is retiring after more than four decades with the utility.
Rehberg joined EPB in 2024 as president of strategic initiatives, leading efforts involving next-generation energy and fiber-optic technologies. She previously held leadership positions with Tri-County Electric Cooperative in Texas and American Electric Power.
An electrical engineer, Rehberg holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Tulsa and an MBA from Capital University. She also serves on the board of the Hunter Museum of American Art.
Zalk joins First Horizon commercial banking team
First Horizon Bank has hired Nick Zalk as a commercial relationship manager in its Chattanooga office.
Zalk will be responsible for developing and expanding client relationships while helping manage portfolio growth and asset quality. He previously worked as a commercial banker for Washington Federal Bank and as a business banker with U.S. Bank.
Zalk is a graduate of Tennessee Temple University and is returning to Chattanooga with his family.
UT-Chattanooga softball adds two assistants to staff
UT-Chattanooga softball head coach Donald Pickett has added Brooke Yanez and Ryan Brzozoski to his coaching staff.
Yanez joins the Mocs after a playing career that included stops at UC Davis, Oregon and UCLA, as well as professional experience with Athletes Unlimited, the Chattanooga Steam, the Japan Professional League and AUSL Chicago. She’ll work with Chattanooga’s pitching staff.
Yanez was a two-time All-Pac-12 selection and earned All-America honors from the National Fastpitch Coaches Association and Softball America. She also was the 2019 Big West Pitcher of the Year.
Brzozoski has been elevated to assistant coach after spending the past two seasons assisting the Mocs. Her duties have included working with outfielders and hitters as well as scouting and recruiting.
A 2022 Samford University graduate, Brzozoski was an all-conference selection and Southern Conference All-Tournament Team honoree during her playing career.
CommonSpirit urology adds physician assistant Garrido
Physician assistant Juan Garrido has joined CommonSpirit Medical Group – Urology – Holtzclaw and is accepting new patients.
Garrido earned a master’s degree in physician assistant studies from the University of Nebraska in Lincoln. He also has specialized military medical training from the U.S. Army and is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.

AIM Center names Mental Health Heroes
AIM Center has announced the recipients of its inaugural Mental Health Hero Awards, recognizing 10 individuals and organizations for their contributions to mental health awareness, access, recovery and support.
The 2026 recipients are LaDarius Price of PEAK, Civic Hero Award; Volunteer Behavioral Health, Corporate Champion Award; Ellen Heavilon of Signal Centers, Program Partner Award; Frances McDonald of Mark Making, Advocacy Hero Award; Jean Cobb of River Valley Health, Healing Hero Award; Joe Jenkins of The BRAVE Effect, Equity in Action Award; Aaron Jonathan Baker of AIM Center, Recovery Hero Award; Marsha Mills of Rhyme N Chatt, Voice for Change Award; Molly Hampton of Students Organizing Students, Rising Hero Award; and Jean Blackburn of Bowen Theory Education Center, Lifetime Achievement Award.
The awards recognize contributions in areas ranging from advocacy and professional care to community partnerships, equity, storytelling and personal recovery.
AIM Center created the awards to highlight people and organizations helping foster a recovery-focused approach to mental health in Chattanooga and the surrounding community.
Co-chairs named for 2027 Pink! Gala
Dr. Betsy Washburn, Dr. Christina Parkhurst, Robert Morris and Jeff Nixon have been named co-chairs of CommonSpirit Memorial Foundation’s 22nd annual Pink! gala.
Washburn is a board-certified, fellowship-trained breast surgeon and medical director of the MaryEllen Locher Breast Center. She earned her medical degree and completed her surgical residency at the Medical College of Georgia before completing a breast surgery fellowship at William Beaumont Hospital.
Parkhurst is a general surgeon with CommonSpirit - CHI Memorial who practices in Hixson and Ooltewah. She earned her medical degree from Meharry Medical College and completed her general surgery residency at the Medical College of Georgia. She was also among 12 Chattanooga-area physicians honored in the 2025 Doctors’ Day Salute based on patient nominations.
Nixon is a longtime real estate professional who has held leadership positions with Crye-Leike Real Estate Services and Greater Chattanooga Realtors. He’s been licensed in real estate since 1995 and currently serves as president-elect of Greater Chattanooga Realtors, after previously serving as the association’s MLS chairman.
Morris is the chief of staff to the CEO at Cempa Community Care.
The black-tie fundraiser will be held Jan. 30 at the Chattanooga Convention Center.
