Tennessee freshman Ralph Scott to have knee surgery, be sidelined at least 6 months

KNOXVILLE (AP) — Tennessee freshman Ralph Scott will miss at least six months because of an injured left knee that requires surgery, coach Rick Barnes said Wednesday.

The 6-foot-8 forward will have surgery Thursday, Barnes said.

Scott and the rest of the Volunteers had been excited to see him on the court in a few weeks, the coach said.

"However, it is important he gets healthy and this surgery will help him do just that," Barnes said. "We will be there for Ralph to support him throughout his recovery process. Ralph is extremely talented and we remain enthusiastic about his bright future on Rocky Top."

Scott is from Bermuda and was a top-80 recruit from IMG Academy in Florida. He was picked for the Team World Roster at the 2026 Iverson Classic 24K Showcase, and he was the MVP at the 2025 Basketball Without Borders Americas camp.
