A festive morning of stories and Santa at the LeHew Magid Big House in Franklin. 40th annual Dickens of a Christmas

This event recreates the time of Charles Dickens using historic downtown Franklin’s charming architecture as the backdrop. A variety of musicians, dancers and Dickens characters will fill the streets. Expect to see and interact with the nefarious Fagin from Oliver Twist; Jacob Marley, Ebenezer Scrooge, Tiny Tim and the rest of the Cratchit family from A Christmas Carol; and of course, a Victorian Father and Mother Christmas with treats for children. The festival is produced by the Heritage Foundation of Williamson County. Live music, whiskey lounge, beer garden and food and beverage vendors. Gallatin Christmas Parade

“Christmas is …” is the theme of this year’s parade, which starts at Steam Plant Road, goes down Hartsville Pike, continues onto Main Street, then Broadway before concluding at Gallatin High School. Noon. Information

White Bluff Christmas Parade

The day begins with Breakfast with Santa (8-11 a.m.) at the community center, Jennie’s Mercantile (9 a.m.-3 p.m.) at Bibb Civic Center and the parade at 4:30 p.m., followed by caroling down Main Street to the community center, where hot cocoa and cookies will be served and the Christmas tree lit.
