Taylor chosen to chair health care conference for 3rd time

Accountant William H. Taylor II graduated from Southern Missionary College (now Southern Adventist University) in 1975. For several years, he operated a local CPA practice before selling the company in 1982 and moving into the health care field.

It sure is amazing the number of forms you have to sign these days if you are going to do any type of construction. There are forms for letting your neighbor know you are going to build something all the way to a form to let the government know you may upset the waters of the United States of America. And I’m not just talking about building a house.

Hamilton County - Plaintiffs, paternal grandparents, filed this action pursuant to the Grandparents Visitation Act, to obtain court ordered visitation with their grandchild, since the child’s father was deceased. Following an evidentiary hearing, the trial court ordered visitation and the mother appealed. We affirm the Judgment of the trial court.

On the “Natural State Golf Trail” tour, Fred and I were at Eagle’s Crest in Alma last weekend. The difference in this course and Stonebridge, in Fayetteville, a few weeks before, was the number of people out playing. We teed off a little before 10 a.m. and didn’t see anyone all day — the way golf was meant to be played.

Weekly Indulgence
Everyone has specific childhood memories that invoke emotion. The smell of water hose water, for example, sends my memory hurdling across my parents’ backyard, belly first, onto a Slip’N Slide. As that picture plays back vividly in my mind, it brings with it great emotion – unbridled happiness, endless merriment and the security that nothing could ever rock the little world in which I lived.
Arts & Education Council delights movie lovers through Back Row Film series
These days, movie theaters use 3D audio and digital projection to lure viewers. But there was a time when the only sounds an audience would hear were those of live musicians playing along with the movie.
Jazz ensemble Kenosha Kid is a raider of that lost art. In 2001, guitarist Dan Nettles began dabbling with film during performances, and found he enjoyed turning off the theater’s lights and improvising along with a movie’s storyline. The band’s current performances are more sophisticated, involving as they do detailed outlines and multiple themes stretched to encompass an entire film.

Born and raised in Chattanooga, Jack Webb headed north after graduating from McCallie School. He attended the University of Kentucky, where he met his wife, and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business.
“I really didn’t know what I wanted to do,” he says. “My father and grandfather had both worked for the old Provident Life and Accident Insurance Company, which is now Unum. So I started out there.”

Kay's Cooking Corner
Don and I just returned from Los Cabos, Mexico, also known as Baja Sur, Calif., to some of you. Los Cabos is down on the Pacific coastline where the Sea of Cortez meets the Pacific Ocean – just a really beautiful place.
When we tell people where we were going or had been the usual response is something about how dangerous it is because of the drug trafficking. However, we stayed on our resort, and when we did go anywhere like sightseeing, or shopping, we took a taxi, did only what we intended to do, and then went back to the resort. We had no problems at all this way, and everyone we met was friendly and helpful.
The Critic's Corner
First, a confession I doubt will send a shockwave through our readership: I like Harry Potter, but I’m not a fan. I haven’t read any of the books, I don’t get involved in discussions about author J.K. Rowling and I missed the fifth movie.
Being a muggle, however, has its benefits; namely, I don’t carry any baggage into the theater when I see a new Potter movie. Conversely, those who have read the novels almost look slumped over with the weight of their expectations. It’s like they have an 800-page book on their backs...
