Leitner Williams names new members

Leitner, Williams, Dooley & Napolitan has named two new members in Chattanooga: Attorneys Andrew Godbold and Terri Daugherty.

Godbold is a native of Chattanooga and a Baylor School alumnus. He earned his undergraduate degree at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and went on to receive his juris doctor from the University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law.


Inns of Court raises $14,650 for Ronald McDonald House

The Justices Brock-Cooper Chapter of the American Inns of Court raised $14,650 for the Ronald McDonald House through a charity auction hosted and attended by Inn members in December and from private donations.

Jane Kaylor, CEO of the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Chattanooga, said the nonprofit “greatly appreciates” the donation.

Erlanger launches new GI trial to increase early colon cancer detection

Erlanger Health System has launched a clinical trial looking at the use of artificial intelligence technology for improving polyp detection during colonoscopies conducted with Magentiq Eye’s ME-APDSTM device.

The trial utilizes artificial intelligence software during routine colonoscopies to identify abnormalities called polyps in the lining of the colon.


Erlanger makes strides to improve health for opioid impacted mothers and newborns

Erlanger Health System has positively impacted the health care and health outcomes of pregnant women and their newborns affected by Opioid Use Disorder, the hospital reports.

In the spring of 2019, Erlanger and several hospitals around the state partnered with the Tennessee Initiative for Perinatal Quality Care to implement the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists’ Alliance for Innovation in Maternal Health Program’s Obstetric Care for Women with Opioid Use Disorder Maternal Safety Bundle.


Bloomberg Philanthropies awards Chattanooga national grant

Bloomberg Philanthropies has awarded the Chattanooga Department of Transportation a $25,000 grant as a part of its Asphalt Art initiative, which is designed to help cities use art and design to improve street safety and revitalize public spaces.

The City of Chattanooga will paint a mural at Crutchfield Street, between Glass Street and Dodson Avenue, due to its proximity to Hardy Elementary, the East Chattanooga Youth and Family Development Center and the new Save A Lot grocery store.

The Chattanooga Chamber of Commerce has opened nominations for the Leadership Chattanooga class of 2021-22.

The 10-month leadership development program provides local professionals with opportunities to learn about and engage with the community where they live and work.


CHI Memorial Regional Sleep center opens in North Georgia

A CHI Memorial Regional Sleep Center is now open in North Georgia.

The new sleep lab, where sleep study tests are conducted, is located at CHI Memorial Hospital Georgia in Ft. Oglethorpe.

The sleep clinic, for pre-study consultation and post-study evaluation and treatment plan development, is located at CHI Memorial Parkway in Ringgold.
