Fireside is a free outdoor concert series that gathers around a campfire at Chattanooga’s Greenway Farm Park on Thursday evenings in October, 7-9 p.m. The stage is located on the porch of the Sniteman Log Cabin behind the gardens at the park. Performers include:

Jerry Herman: The Broadway Legacy Concert
The Chattanooga Symphony & Opera will present “Jerry Herman: The Broadway Legacy Concert” on Saturday, Oct. 6, 7:30 p.m., at the Tivoli Theatre. The concert will feature guest vocalist and Chattanooga native Scott Coulter alongside Broadway veterans Klea Blackhurst, Debbie Gravitte and Ron Raines as they pay tribute to Tony Award winning composer Jerry Herman – the songsmith behind “Hello, Dolly!” Mame,” “La Cage aux Folles” and more. CVB to host first Chattanooga Tourism Summit
The Chattanooga Convention & Visitors Bureau will host the first Chattanooga Tourism Summit on Tuesday, Oct. 9 from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Chattanooga Convention Center. This event replaces the former CVB annual meeting.
The summit will include lunch, a performance by local musician Rick Rushing and a new expo featuring travel and tourism-related businesses. Barry White, the new president and chief executive officer of the CVB, will be sharing the importance of tourism in Chattanooga and the organization’s vision for tourism over the next few years.
Bill Geist, chief instigator at DMOproz, will provide the keynote address. DMOproz is a firm specializing in strategic planning, marketing, governance and legislative issues for convention and visitor bureaus, tourism-focused chambers of commerce, economic development organizations and communities.

Aretha Franklin tribute
The Granfalloon, 400 E. Main St., will host an Aretha Franklin Tribute featuring Neshawn Calloway on Saturday, Oct. 13, at 8 p.m. Calloway will be accompanied by her full band as she sings some of Franklin’s greatest hits, including “Respect,” “Chain of Fools” and “Freeway of Love.” Tickets will cost $10 at the door. Public Medicare Advantage meetings
BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee will hold a series of meetings in the Chattanooga area in the coming weeks to educate seniors about their health care options.
Medicare advocates from BlueCross will host the meetings, which are free and open to the public, throughout the Medicare Advantage open enrollment period. 18th annual Chattanooga Dances!
The 18th annual Chattanooga Dances! concert will be presented in the Center for Creative Arts Auditorium, 1301 Dallas Rd., Thursday, Oct. 18 at 7 p.m. Companies appearing during this year’s concert will be Ballet Tennessee, Barger Academy’s Movement Makers, Baylor’s Verve, Center for Creative Arts’ Project Motion, Chattanooga Ballet and GPS’ Terpsichord. Photographic Society of Chattanooga open house
The Photographic Society of Chattanooga will host its annual open house on Thursday, Oct. 18. Award-winning photographer Mark Alberhasky will present a program titled “In Search of Critical Focus.”
Alberhasky’s photographic experience spans more than 40 years. He became a contributing photographer for Nikon in 2004 with placements as diverse as commercial ads, product packaging, magazine covers, textbooks, action sports publications and corporate installations.
Alberhasky teaches as a Nikon mentor for Pop Photo Magazine’s Mentor Series Worldwide Treks and leads trips for Photozonetours.com and private clients.
The program will begin at 7 p.m. Refreshments will be served during a social hour beginning at 6 p.m.
Kickin’ It with Dad
First Things First will host Kickin’ It with Dad, a day of recreational soccer, on Saturday, Oct. 20 at the Highland Park Commons Soccer Fields. Purchase tickets at FirstThings.org. WTCI to host annual family day event
WTCI will host its annual Family Day on Sunday, Nov. 11 from 1-4 p.m. at 7540 Bonnyshire Dr. The free event will feature green screen activities, storybook reading, a petting zoo, tours of a Chattanooga Fire Department fire engine, face painting, games, activities and more.
Photo opportunities will be available for children with Clifford, Curious George and Super Why! Guests are invited to bring a gently-used book to benefit HCDE schools and a canned food item or new socks to support Chattanooga Community Kitchen.
