Burlington Stores is opening a new store at The Village at Waterside, 2521 Lifestyle Way, on Friday, May 11. The retailer will hold its ribbon cutting ceremony at 9:30 a.m.

CSO fundraiser returns May 12

Elizabeth’s Outrun Melanoma 5K and Walk

The sixth annual Elizabeth’s Outrun Melanoma 5K and Walk will take place Saturday, May 12 at Enterprise South Nature Park. Registration, check-in and warm-up activities will begin at 8 a.m. The 5K run and one-mile walk will start at 9 a.m. The proceeds of this event will benefit the Elizabeth R. Smith Melanoma Fund at CHI Memorial Rees Skillern Cancer Institute, which supports the prevention, awareness and research of melanoma, a serious form of skin cancer. Register: www.memorial.org/race. Urban League Power Luncheon

The Urban League of Greater Chattanooga will host the Fifth Annual Entrepreneur Power Luncheon on Tuesday, May 15 at 11:30 a.m. at the Chattanooga Convention Center. The event will feature keynote speaker Dr. Randall Pinkett, the founder, chairman and CEO of BCT Partners, a multimillion dollar consulting firm. Bike to lunch

Outdoor Chattanooga will lead a guided bicycle tour of the Tennessee Riverwalk extension on Wednesday, May 16, 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. The roundtrip ride will start at 200 River St. and pause at Crust Pizza in St. Elmo, where the group will eat lunch. Helmets will be required and can be provided. Bicycles will be provided courtesy of Chattanooga Bicycle Club and Friends of Outdoor Chattanooga. There is no cost to participate in the ride. Zoo’s Spirits in the Wild

The Chattanooga Zoo will host its annual Spirits in the Wild event on Saturday, May 19 from 6-10 p.m. The evening will include animal encounters, live music, a cigar lounge, craft beer and wine tastings and samples of different cuisines from Chattanooga restaurants. Tickets

Chattanooga Heroes Run/Walk

The Chattanooga Heroes Run/Walk, presented by Erlanger’s Level One Trauma Center, will take place on Saturday, July 14 beginning at 8 a.m. The event will include a five-mile loop course beginning at the Naval Operational Support Center and Marine Corps Reserve Center and ending at the Hubert Fry Center at the Tennessee RiverPark. Parking will also be available at the RiverPark. Volunteers are needed to assist with pre-run bag packing, set up, race activities, the kids run and post-run clean-up. The proceeds from this event will help to fund the construction of a permanent memorial space at the RiverPark. Information
