Chattanooga attorneys, firms surge in Chambers USA rankings




Chattanooga attorneys and law firms have received significant recognition in Chambers USA 2018.

Each year, Chambers USA ranks law firms and individual lawyers based on various qualities, including legal ability, conduct, client service, diligence and commitment. Chambers’ research team conducts thousands of interviews with lawyers and clients throughout the year to create a basis for their rankings.

Law firms and individual lawyers are ranked in bands from one to six, with one being the best.

Individual lawyers

Individual lawyers are ranked based on legal knowledge and experience, ability, effectiveness and client service based on peer review and client interviews.

Chambers USA 2018 lists Chattanooga attorney Ronald Feldman, a partner in Husch Blackwell’s real estate, development and construction practice, in band three of its real estate rankings.

Feldman has a real estate portfolio that comprises more than 30 years of legal work. He’s been named in Chambers USA 2018’s real estate rankings since 2012.

Chambliss, Bahner & Stophel attorneys received significant recognition in Chambers USA 2018, with five attorneys receiving special recognition:

  • Rosemarie Hill for labor and employment
  • Mark Cunningham for health care
  • Rick Hitchcock for environmental law
  • William Pickering for labor and employment
  • Justin Furrow for labor and employment.

Listed in band three of Chambers USA 2018, Hill counsels manufacturing and service companies, universities, colleges, private schools and health care providers, among other employers, on dozens of employment-related issues.

Cunningham is a member of Chambliss Law’s health care section and serves as counsel for leading healthcare participants on a regional and national level.

Hitchcock has broad litigation experience representing clients in a variety of industries on a wide range of issues.

Pickering has been providing advice and representation to management in labor and employment matters and to educational institutions and governmental clients for more than three decades.

Listed as an Up and Coming attorney in Chambers USA 2018, Furrow advises employers of all sizes on federal and state workplace laws and regulations. He also defends clients in employment litigation.

Three attorneys from the Chattanooga office of prominent law firm Miller & Martin are featured as top lawyers in Chambers USA 2018:

  • John Bode for labor and employment
  • Roger Dickson for general commercial litigation
  • Hugh Sharber for corporate law and mergers and acquisitions.

Bode concentrates his practice on labor relations and employment opportunity. For more than three decades, he has served as lead trial counsel in numerous cases before state and federal agencies and courts and the National Labor Relations Board.

Dickson concentrates his practice on litigation with an emphasis on complex commercial disputes, white collar crime, healthcare, personal injury and products liability. Dickson is a Fellow in the American College of Trial Lawyers.

Sharber practices business law with an emphasis on mergers and acquisitions and securities transactions.

David Higney of Grant, Konvalinka & Harrison is listed as a “notable practitioner” in environmental law. Higney represents clients on a range of environmental issues before local, state and federal administrative agencies, as well as in litigation.

2018 Chambers USA lists Chambliss Law as a leading Tennessee firm in the areas of intellectual property, labor and employment, general commercial litigation and real estate.

The guide also recognizes Miller & Martin as a leading law firm in the practice areas of labor and employment, corporate/mergers and acquisitions, general commercial litigation and intellectual property.

Baker Donelson is also highly regarded in Chambers USA 2018.
