Newsmakers: Hammontree joins area Food Bank




Melanie Hammontree is the Chattanooga Area Food Bank’s new Northwest Georgia development officer. Hammontree will support the nine counties the Food Bank serves in Georgia. She will be based out of the Food Bank’s Northwest Georgia branch, located at 1111 South Hamilton St. in Dalton, Georgia.

With prior experience in the banking industry at Wachovia Bank (now Wells Fargo), Hammontree has spent the past 13 years working with various non-profits in the Dalton area. Most recently, she worked at Dalton Arts Project and the Dance Theatre of Dalton, as well as served as president of the Dalton Middle School Booster Club.

A native of Dalton, Hammontree attended Dalton Public Schools, earned an Associate of Science degree from Dalton State College and a Bachelor of Science in biology with a minor in psychology from Kennesaw State University. She is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and serves as a committee member for Dalton Arts Project.

Pinnacle hires for pair of branchises

Kim Daniel has joined Pinnacle Financial Partners as a senior vice president and mortgage advisor at the firm’s Shallowford Road office.

Daniel most recently spent 14 years with SunTrust Mortgage, where she was a mortgage loan officer. Previously, Daniel was with American Home Mortgage, where roles included serving as a mortgage loan officer, FHA underwriter and mortgage loan processor.

Daniel attended the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.

Also, Pinnacle has recruited Mike Matousek, Brandi Hamilton and Carrie Hill to its Broad Street office.

Matousek brings eight years of experience to his role of senior vice president and credit advisor for Pinnacle’s credit administration group. Before joining Pinnacle, he spent eight years with Branch Banking and Trust as a commercial credit leader, portfolio manager and credit analyst.

He earned a degree in economics from Clemson University.

Hamilton has nine years of experience and joins the firm as a financial advisor assistant. Before joining Pinnacle, she was with First Volunteer Bank, where she was a loan operations specialist.

She attended LaGrange College in LaGrange, Georgia.

With 14 years of financial services experience, Hill joins Pinnacle as a financial specialist. Prior roles were with SunTrust Bank, where she served as a personal banker and teller coordinator, and Regions Bank, where she was a head teller and financial services representative.

Hill earned her associate’s degree from Chattanooga State Technical Community College.
