Corker receives Chattanooga History Center Award

The Chattanooga History Center on Monday presented U.S. Senator Bob Corker with its 10th Annual History Makers Award.

The award recognizes local individuals or groups who have made significant contributions to Chattanooga, the region, the state, or the country.

“Chattanooga has been successful because of its outstanding and engaged citizens, so I’m honored to be mentioned among many whom I respect so much and look forward to celebrating our community and the work of the Chattanooga History Center,” said Corker. I

n 2012, Tennesseans elected Corker to his second term in the U.S. Senate, where he serves as chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee and is an active member of the Banking Committee and Budget Committee.

Corker was Tennessee’s commissioner of finance and mayor of Chattanooga, but he spent most of his life in business.
