Ice on the Landing offers wintertime recreation

In an iconic scene in “A Charlie Brown Christmas,” the Peanuts gang ice skates to the music of jazz pianist Vince Guaraldi.

The scene perfectly portrays the romance of ice skating during the holiday season. Now Chattanooga residents can enjoy an afternoon or evening on the ice with family and friends, courtesy of Ice on the Landing.

A new holiday attraction, the ice rink is located under the open sky on the Chattanooga Green. The 50 feet by 70 feet rink will remain in place through Sunday, Jan. 4.

Hot chocolate and other snack vendors are on hand to keep everyone warm and full (and unlike swimming, there are no rules about waiting to skate after eating). Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for children 12 and under. This includes skate rental and skating for two hours.
