A one-day joint operation by Chattanooga Police Department (CPD), Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO), and Tennessee Department of Correction (TDOC) last week resulted in the safe arrest of 20 probation and parole violators on outstanding warrants.
Starting at 7 a.m. on Sept. 3, over 70 officers worked together to help TDOC clear a number of outstanding warrants.
“Through this collaboration, we were able to help make our streets safer in a short amount of time,” stated CPD Sgt. Tim Tomisek, who acted as a leader during the day-long operation. “All agencies work with finite resources, but initiatives like this allow agencies to combine our resources for greater efficiency and a more substantial impact for our community.”
“The Tennessee Department of Correction is very dedicated to its mission of enhancing public safety,” said Robert Reburn, TDOC East Tennessee Region Public Information Officer. “We feel that through initiatives like ... [last week’s] operation, with the assistance of CPD and HCSO, our field service agents and probation and parole officers are able to achieve that mission here in Chattanooga.”
